23-01-2012: Today the puppies are four weeks old, and they have reached the age where they have outgrown the kitchen facilities. They still want a warm and dry place, but they need more room for playing and above all it is increasingly difficult to maintain proper hygiene in the whelping box.
Cool (the dog puppy with white string) couldn't wait for today to get better space, and in the middle of last night he decided to crawl over the sides of the whelping box only to land on Waggie, where I found the little bugger this morning. Another sign that moving was due.
The puppy yard has an area with a deep layer of wood shavings underneath which I have sprinkled som desinfection powder. You will see the heating lamp over it. There is a large play area which too has a heating lamp and then of course there is the sleeping box which has a heated floor, and which is very well isolated. Inside the box there are quite a few carpets that the puppies can dive into.
The puppycam has moved with the puppies, so help yourself with live images from the menu to the left. When I put the puppies into their new home, they immediately used the toilet in the wood shavings, after which the puppies ran a little around inspecting things. They must have sensed the heat coming from the box, because soon they crawled in there and went fast asleep.
They are such fine puppies all of them!
